SELF-CONTAINED WATERFALLS

Waterfall Information

     General Information:

·    Waterfalls are outdoors unless otherwise specified.  Indoor are available but are custom and require 4 to 6 weeks.  Livin Lava recommends using the disappearing reservoir and the additional cost is included in the actual estimate.  

      Table falls are contained in the appropriate resin bowl and the cost is included with the table fall.

·    Boulders are hand selected from feather rock located in Northern California.

·    Boulders are hand carved using masonry drills and carving tools.

·    In order to minimize absorption, self-contained waterfalls are lined with water- tight materials. 

     General Maintenance Information:

·    Self-contained waterfalls run with a Via Aqua 305, 306. Table falls use United or Via Aqua 302. The pump is included in the price.  Follow instructions for cleaning and maintenance enclosed in your pump box.  The pumps have a one-year warranty.

·     If and/or when, you are moving your fall, always wear gloves to prevent cutting yourself.  Never pull up on the bowls or any other thin area.

·     Waterfalls can and should run 24/7.  If you choose not to run, we suggest draining to prevent stagnant water and algae.  Place plants in the bowls to camouflage the dormant waterfall.  In addition, if you are not running your waterfall and freezing temperatures are expected, you must drain.  Your water will not freeze if running.

·     Use an algae treatment as directed.  If not used, you will eventually get the natural “green” look if preferred.  We recommend Green Clean (safe for fish) or Fountec Pond Care and it is safe for plants and animals.

·     If your waterfall begins to look “rough” and/or once a year drain, using the Green Clean instructions. After you fall dries (about 24 hours), spray under bowls and around the spouts with Thompson Water Seal and allow an additional 24 hours to dry.  Refill with water and enjoy.

     Trouble Shooting:

·   Natural evaporation will occur for the following reasons; high heat, wind, natural spit and absorption into rock. 

·    Every waterfall is different and watering will vary, however, if you notice that you are watering more often than normal, please call, Livin Lava and we will discuss your problem and /or set up an appointment to evaluate and make any repairs.

·    Check that the waterfall is level (ground subsidence) as this can cause water loss or sometimes water does find a pinhole that requires a patch.
